Knight Pitching School
Knight Pitching School
Brandon Knight is a lifelong Ventura County resident. He played baseball for Buena High school where he was an all Ventura County selection, as both a pitcher and a hitter in 1992 and 1993. He moved on to play for the Ventura College Pirates where he earned recognition as state player of the year and first team All American honors in 1995. He was selected in the June 1995 draft by the Texas Rangers. He went on to play at the major league level with the New York Yankees in 2001 and 2002 and currently plays for the New York Mets. He was also fortunate enough to be selected for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Baseball team, for which he helped the team win a bronze medal.
Brandon Knight has been playing professional baseball for the past 14 years. In the course of those 14 years Brandon was instructed by former yankee pitching legend and pitching coach Mel stottlemyre and current Toronto Blue Jays pitching coach Brad Arnsberg. During his professional baseball career he has channeled that knowledge into teaching little leaguers and collegians alike.
During the 2007 year Brandon took on the role of pitching coach for the Ventura College Pirates Baseball Team. The experience was both challenging and fulfilling. He continued coaching the team in 2008.
These experiences have inspired Brandon to to start Knight Pitching School so that he can devote more time to helping players develop proper mechanics and an appreciation of the great game of baseball. His mission is to help them develop their skills so that they will be ready to compete at the next level, whether it is a higher level of little league or being prepared for college baseball and beyond.
